Would you like to wake up with perfect lips every day? Fuller, plumper and with a beautiful colour? Not a filler in sight? Then semi‐permanent lip liner and lip colour or lip-blush may be the solution you are looking for
What are semi‐permanent lip liner and lip colour?
Semi‐permanent makeup involves tattooing the contours of your lips like a liner and the lip colour. It’s an excellent way to make your lips look fuller and more sensual. Semi-permanent lip liners and lip colour can help even out the shape and colour of your lips and correct visible imperfections, as well as saving you time when it comes to your makeup but giving you perfect lips without the hard work every day.
Who is it suitable for?
It is suitable for people who are looking to redefine the lip contours and hide any shape/tone irregularities. It is ideal for women who want their lips to look as young as they feel!
What does it involve?
Technicians will first help you pick a colour that looks natural or will make your lips look their most flattering. The next step is the application of lidocaine cream to your lips to make them numb. When they start the process, they will use the tattoo pen to either outline the lips and/or fill them with the colour of your choice. The technique will make them look younger and well-defined, so don’t expect your lips to get fuller after the procedure.
You won’t feel much pain or bleed if the technician knows what they’re doing. There will be no lines that are often seen after you get a tattoo or any kind of soreness.
Pros and Cons
- The tattoo is not like a traditional lip liner. It will not just be applied to the border of your lips but also the middle of the lip. The resultant look will be blended and more natural.
- If you are not satisfied with your natural lip line, then semi-permanent lip makeup cannot help. You will have to get filler first.
- If you want to get your lips completely coloured, then you can simply get a colour that’s close to your natural lip colour for a subtle look.
- If you get the procedure done by someone inexperienced and the result isn’t optimal, then you will have to get the lip-liner tattoo removed. That will require laser treatment, which might not always work, cost you a lot of money, and cause you pain!
Since your body will try to heal what it considers damage, the colour will get lighter with passing time. You can help slow down the fading speed by staying away from skincare products that contain the following ingredients:
- Vitamin C
Just Jade will provide aftercare instructions when your treatment is finished, you will also receive an aftercare balm as well, to help the area heal and maximise the treatment. Taking care of your semi-permeant lips is not challenging or time-consuming, they just require a little TLC.
In general, your eyebrows will generally heal in about 3-7 days and 10-14 days under the surface.
Also, Just Jade recommends not exposing the skin to extreme heat, cold or moisture and to avoid wearing make up in the affected area for a few days unless it is mineral cosmetics. Avoid the sun if you can or use high sun factor suntan lotion if you must go out during the healing phase.
Lip liner/lip-blush is one of the quickest areas to heal, they normally take around 4-5 days to fully heal. The colour will fade up to 50% and needs a top up 4-8 weeks later. On Day 1 the colour will remain strong straight after the procedure. Day 2 the lips will have dried out and feel quite tight where the skin is trying to heal and becoming slightly scabby. Day 3 after continuing to use the aftercare cream from the start on the lips the dry skin/scabs will start to come away naturally. Day 4 you should be fully healed with a very small bit of scab left that needs to release on its own. Remember everyone is different so you may heal faster or slower than others if you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact Jade.
How long will it last?
Since the pigmentation will keep on fading gradually, it will last for a period of 23 years. It is recommended that you get a colour boost after 6-12 months or so after the initial application.
