Semi-Permanent Eyeliner

For women who love getting made up but can’t always find the time to look good every day, there is good news!

Now you don’t have to enter a tug of war with your eyeliner every time you’re going out. With one simple procedure, you can always look glammed up.

We are talking about semi-permanent eyeliner of course. If you haven’t heard of it yet, then read on as take you through everything you need to know about semi-permanent eyeliner.

What is semi-permanent eyeliner?

Simply put it is a little lash enhancement, a natural looking eyeliner. The pigment is placed along the lash line, tattooing the eyeliner close to the lash root gives the illusion of thicker, fuller lashes. A soft line underneath the eye gives a full symmetrical look

If you are someone who is looking for a way to make your eyes stand out in a natural way, then semi-permanent eyeliner will be perfect for you.

Who is it suitable for?

It is ideal for women who don’t have the time to apply eyeliner every day, busy mums who can’t afford the time for a little pampering for themselves or for working mum’s stretched too thin. Looking your best is important, so if you are waking up that little bit earlier to make time for your morning makeup regime then this is the ideal solution for you.

Semi-permanent eyeliner is also a good fit for ladies who have regular run-ins with seasonal allergies and can’t wear eyeliner due to swollen eyes, etc. or are allergic to most eyeliner brands that can leave your eyes itchy and watery.

What does it involve?

The process involves the following steps:

  1. Jade will apply a local anaesthetic to your eyes.
  2. You will have to wait for about 15-20 mins for the anaesthetic to take effect.
  3. With a tool that looks an Epi-Pen, they will start applying the eyeliner to your eyes.
  4. You will be done after 3-4 passes.

Pros and Cons

  • It saves women time without having to go through the daily hassle of applying and wearing eyeliner.
  • You should only attempt to get this procedure done by a skilled technician or an expert with the right credentials.
  • The resulting look is not eye-popping. Instead, it will give your eyes a subtle emphasis.
  • The procedure can be mildly painful.
  • Side effects are rare.

Aftercare

Once you have the procedure done, your eyes will need some aftercare. That usually includes washing the area daily, at least twice in the first few days. You will also have to be careful to keep your eyes clean and the eyeliner moist by application of Aquaphor. Vaseline is another alternate but if you don’t apply it with a light hand, then you could end up with Vaseline goop in your eyes!

Just Jade will provide aftercare instructions when your treatment is finished, you will also receive an aftercare balm as well, to help the area heal and maximise the treatment. Taking care of your semi-permeant eyes is not challenging or time-consuming, they just require a little TLC.

In general, your eyes will generally heal in about 3-7 days and 10-14 days under the surface.

Also, Just Jade recommends not exposing the skin to extreme heat, cold or moisture and to avoid wearing makeup in the affected area for a few days unless it is mineral cosmetics. Avoid the sun if you can or use high sun factor suntan lotion if you must go out during the healing phase.

How long does it last?

One procedure can last for up to 3 years or longer, as long as a top up regime is followed every 6-12 months.

You want to make sure that you have the right person for the job and let’s face it, our eyes deserve only the best, which means Just Jade Makeup.
